VEGAN - Vegan contains only plant-based ingredients. Vegan excludes all meats and meat byproducts, all poultry,all fish, all seafood, all dairy, all eggs, all egg products and all honey. WELL BALANCED - Well balanced foods and recipes fit criteria based on recommendations by major health organizationsfor reduced calories, fat, cholesterol and sodium. An entrée may not contain more than 15 grams of fat,for example. COMPLETE PLATE - VEGETARIAN - The vegetarian label means lacto-ovo vegetarian. Vegetarian dishes may contain milk and/or eggs. Meats, meat products, seafood, fish and poultry are excluded.

Common Food Allergens

It can be a challenge to manage a food allergy or intolerance. However, being thoroughly informed about problematic ingredients can assist you in making healthful, and safe food choices. The following is a partial list of the most common food allergens.

Dairy:
Includes milk and all dairy products such as yogurt, cheese, butter and ice cream. Other foods to avoid include casein, curds, ghee, lactalbumin, lactoglobulin, and whey.

Wheat:
Includes any food product made with wheat flour such as that found in breads, cereals and noodles. Other foods to avoid include bran, bulgur, barley, buckwheat, cous cous, cracker meal, semolina, and spelt. A number of condiments including vinegars, soy sauce, beverages, baking products and other commercial foods may contain gluten and may need to be avoided by persons who have gluten intolerance (also known as Celiac Disease).

Peanuts:
Includes peanuts, peanut butter, mixed nuts and cold-pressed peanut oil. Foods which may contain peanuts include baked goods, candies and chocolate, marzipan, egg rolls, nougat, prepared salads, and foods made with hydrolyzed plant or vegetable protein.

Eggs:
Includes custard, hollandaise sauce, and many baked goods such as cakes and breads. Other foods to avoid include mayonnaise, breaded or battered foods, albumin, globulin, ovalbumin, ovomucin, ovomuccoid, and apovitellin.

Soy:
Includes tofu, tempeh, miso, soy sauce, tamari, and texturized vegetable protein. Other foods that may contain soy include ground beef, prepared sauces and other condiments, and commercial beverages.

Tree Nuts:
Includes all tree nuts and tree nut butters such as walnut, almonds and cashews, and coconut. Other foods that may contain tree nuts include baked goods, candies, and chocolate and prepared salads.
