Occasionally the urge to splurge on favorite treats overrides our best intentions of eating nutritious foods. It is wise to choose healthful snacks most of the time. However, it is also important to eat your favorite foods in moderation in order to avoid deprivation which can lead to bingeing behavior. The following foods provide 100 calories or less per serving and won't set you back if indulged in occasionally:

23 chocolate-covered raisins
3 chocolate kisses
2 miniature chocolate bars
1 C of hot chocolate

Cookies and Dessert
1 chocolate or oatmeal chip cookie
1 granola bar
5 vanilla wafers
1 rice cereal treat
2 chocolate sandwich cookies
1/2 C of pudding
1 slice of angel food cake
1/2 C of frozen yogurt
1 fudgesicle

Salty Snacks
1/2 C of cereal and pretzel mix
4 C's of light popcorn
2 Tbl. of cashews
1 oz. of baked tortilla chips
1 sourdough pretzel

Dairy Foods
1 oz. of cheese
1 Tbls. of reduced-fat cream cheese
1 C of vanilla yogurt

Sauces and Toppings
1 Tbl. of mayonnaise
2 Tbl. of sour cream
2 Tbl. of whipped cream
1 Tbl. of hot fudge
